Henderson's Appearance Commission is partnering with the DDC to construct a brick-framed LED marquee sign at the corner of Garnett Street and Dabney Drive. This sign will be used to market special events in Henderson's Historic Downtown Business District, including McGregor Hall and DDC events. Memorial & Honor Pavers - You have the opportunity to become a lasting part of historic downtown Henderson. Installed around each tree area are engraved 8”X8” granite pavers. Each paver is available for a $300 tax-free deductible contribution. The engraving must be no more than 12 characters per line, including spaces. Christmas Parade - The Henderson, NC Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018.
Parade begins at 5:00 pm. Floats, Fire trucks, and Vehicles with Trailers Line-up on the Dabney Drive Extension (enter from Raleigh Road ONLY) at 4:15pm.

Free Downtown Meeting Space - The Downtown Development Office is available to downtown business owners for private meetings and training. The large conference room seats 12 at the table with side chairs seating another 8. The small conference room seats 4. For more information, contact Kaine at the DDC office.This space is also great for recorded depositions for clients of downtown attorneys.
Halloween - Downtown businesses give out free candy to costumed children 12 and under during our event. It’s one of the largest events in our downtown, so come out to enjoy a safe and fun Halloween for the kids! Participating business will have an orange poster on their window so you know they are offering candy.
Downtown businesses will be offering Trick or Treat on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Garnett Street will be closed for traffic from 4pm to 6pm. The Downtown Trick or Treat is organized by the Vance County Arts Council, check their website here: www.vanceartscouncil.com

A Main Street America Downtown Associate Community - Henderson is an official associate community in the Main Street America program allowing for access to technical assistance and resources from the NC Department of Commerce and the National Main Street Association. The Alumadock Pavilion is scheduled for construction for Winter 2019 thanks to funding from the City of Henderson and a substantial donation from Henderson-based metal fabrication company ROBCO. The Pavilion aligns with the EPA grant-funded "Local Foods - Local Places" plan for a venue that can house outdoor events and open-air markets. Construction is planned for the grassy lot at the corner of South Chestnut St. and West Montgomery St.
