Henderson, North Carolina
Charlie Rose (former host of CBS This Morning & Charlie Rose on PBS) was born and raised in downtown Henderson where he worked in a store "his Dad owned and his Mama ran". He lived upstairs, sharing a room with his grandmother, and he credits his ability to engage people to his years serving in that store.
"My role there was to be able to engage people. Curiosity was a great tool to engage."
Rose attended downtown's Henderson High School before attending nearby Duke University and eventually moving to New York.
